Mixed-media Collage
Work with fabric scraps, miscellaneous papers, use fusible web, UHU glue stick and sewing. There will be some use of the photocopy machine. Create samples for larger work or small one-of-a-kind collages. This is a working method which fosters creativity.

Arbeit mit Textilresten, verschiedenen Papieren, Benutzung von schmelz= baren Geweben, UKU Leimstift und N~ihen, turn Teil Benutzung der Foto= kopiemaschine. Erzeugung von Mustern für grossere Arbeiten oder kleine einzigartige Collages. Arbeitsmethoden, die Kreativität fördern.

Objects of Desire / A Cover Story
Joan Schulze will show how two projects - her traveling exhibition of quilts Objects of Desire and producing a book The Art of Joan Schulze - connect and influence each other. Ms. Schulze illustrates her talk with slides and stories.

Joan Schulze zeigt, wie zwei Projekte - ihre reisende Quilt=Ausstellung "Objects of Desire" und Herausgabe ihres Buches The Art of Joan Schulze - im Zusammenhang stehen und sich gegenseitig beeinflussen. Joan Schulze illustriert ihre Vorträge mit Dias und Erzählungen.

What is inspiration? Where do you find it? How can you encourage it? Joan Schulze will illustrate how she finds inspiration and what she does with it. She will also talk about her new book, The Art of Joan Schulze.

Altered Fabrics I
Monoprinting, Glue Transfer and Photocopy Processes

Monoprint onto cloth and paper using a wide variety of techniques, work with dye sticks and crayons, use Copy Trans II Transfer Paper and the photocopy machine to create images, textures and designs. Textile pigments and transfer methods will provide unique results.

Mono-Druck, Hitzeübertragungs= und Foto=Kopie=Prozesse

Mono-Druck auf Textilien und Papier mit Benutzung einer grossen Auswahl von Techniken, Arbeit mit Farbstiften und Crayons, Benutzung von Copy Trans II Übertragungspapier und der Foto=Kopie=Maschine, um Vorstellungsbilder, Strukturen und Designs zu erzeugen. Textilpigmente und Übertragungsmethoden verschaffen einzigartige Resultate.

Altered Fabrics II:
Fabric Printing using Copier, PVA Transfer Processes and Monoprinting

Use the photocopy machine as an art tool: direct printing onto fabric, altering drawings and designs, layering images and text. PVA (bookbinder's glue) transfer methods and mixed-media monoprinting will provide many options.

Textildruck mit Benutzung, Kopier, PVA Übertragungs= prozessen und Mono-Druck

Benutzung der Foto=Kopie-Maschine als Kunstwerkzeug: Direktes Drucken auf Textilien, Verändern von Zeichnungen und Designs, Schichten von Vorstellbildern und Texten. PVA (Buchbinder= Leim), Übertragungsmethoden und mixed-media Mono-Druck erzeugen viele Möglichkeiten.
